    Religion The origins of the Druze faith can be traced to Egypt in the early eleventh century. Their faith subsequently spread to many regions in the Middle East and North Africa. The basis of the religion is the belief that at various times God has been divinely incarnated in a living person.   “The racial origins of the Druze have been the subject of wild speculation over the years,” University of Haifa historian Kais Firro noted in his “A History of the Druzes.”.

    "A History of the Druzes" begins with an introduction to the early history of the Druzes, focusing on the religious, political, and social features that fostered the Druze community as a religious minority with its own particular characteristics, facilitating an understanding of the Druzes today. Part two examines the period of decline of the Druzes in Lebanon and the emergence of their new. The Druze religion has its roots in Ismailism, a religio-philosophical movement which founded the Fatimid Caliphate in Egypt in the tenth century. During the reign of al-Hakim ( - ) the Druze creed came into being, blending Islamic monotheism with Greek philosophy and Hindu influences.

I think it would have been better if more attention was paid to what led to the split between other Ismaili Shia and how they differ from groups with Ismaili origins/5(12).
